Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti announced that Robert F. Kravetz, most recently an assistant U.S. attorney and the chief of appeals in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Delaware, joined the firm's Philadelphia office as special counsel in the government enforcement, compliance and white-collar litigation practice group.
Serving as an AUSA for 14 years, Kravetz has experience in federal criminal and civil proceedings ranging from financial institution, securities and health care fraud to False Claims Act cases, public corruption matters, international narcotics offenses, money laundering violations, cybercrime and intellectual property offenses.
Kravetz also manages and navigates investigations including complex, parallel investigations with securities and banking regulatory agencies, financial institutions and auditing firms.
Prior to his work in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Kravetz clerked for Judge D. Michael Fisher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti of the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Kravetz is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law.
He currently serves as an assistant professor of law at Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, where he teaches classes in federal criminal investigations and torts.

Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts is scheduled to give an encore presentation of the program "Pennsylvania's Judicial Recusal Law Compared With That of Other States" from noon to 1 p.m. Friday.
During the program, the presenters will describe the current state of Pennsylvania law on judicial recusal, review other states' judicial recusal substantive and procedural laws, and consider what the differences between other states and Pennsylvania tell us about the state of our recusal laws.
The presenters are Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice David N. Wecht, President Judge Jack A. Panella of the Pennsylvania Superior Court and Matthew Hogan of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
Because the program is a rebroadcast, it will be presented as a recording of the original program.
However, Panella and Hogan are set to be available for a live question-and-answer session at the end of the program.
The course has been approved for one ethics CJE credit in Pennsylvania.
One ethics CLE credit in Pennsylvania is pending approval.
There is a registration fee of $25.

Matthew D. Lee, co-chair of Fox Rothschild's white-collar criminal defense and regulatory compliance practice, authored an updated version of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act Answer Book.
The book summarizes the latest developments with respect to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act regulatory framework, including new regulations issued in early 2020 and the current status of negotiations of intergovernmental agreements to enforce FATCA around the globe.
Lee is a former U.S. Department of Justice trial attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of white-collar criminal defense and investigations, federal tax controversies, financial institution regulatory compliance and complex civil litigation.
He serves as co-chair of the Philadelphia chapter of the Federal Bar Association tax section. Lee earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law.
He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New Jersey and New York in addition to Pennsylvania.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
