Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti partner Douglas K. Rosenblum, co-chair of the firm's government compliance, enforcement and white-collar litigation group, is set to lead a presentation Tuesday during the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's upcoming Intellectual Property Law Institute 2020.
The presentation is titled "Trials and Tribulations of Virtual Hearings, Depositions, etc. in the Age of Covid-19."
The full-day program is virtual and offers attendees the opportunity to get ahead of innovations and issues related to virtual hearings and depositions.
Rosenblum represents entities and individuals under investigation or indictment for a variety of allegations including health care fraud and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
After serving as both an assistant district attorney and a special assistant U.S. attorney, Rosenblum has trial experience and knowledge of federal and state procedures.
Rosenblum is a certified fraud investigator.
He conducts internal investigations for a range of companies, including financial and educational institutions, environmental firms, nuclear energy companies and providers of fracking services in the Marcellus Shale.
He defends clients in civil enforcement actions by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, complex insurance defense matters, multidistrict litigations, professional disciplinary proceedings and more.
Rosenblum also serves as an arbitrator.
Currently, he is a co-chair of the Mid-Atlantic subcommittee of the American Bar Association's white-collar crime committee.
Previously, he served as co-chair of the ABA white-collar crime committee's Philadelphia young lawyers' division and served as both chair and vice-chair of the Montgomery Bar Association's rules of criminal court committee.
|Elected and Appointed
Martin Law partner Al Carlson was elected to the board of directors of the Justinian Society.
Carlson is set to serve a three-year term on the board, ending in June 2023.
Carlson is a partner of Martin Law and practices exclusively in the area of workers' compensation law.
Carlson is a frequent guest lecturer at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in the area of Pennsylvania workers' compensation.
In the spring of 2013, Carlson was among the first class of attorneys to become a certified specialist in Pennsylvania workers' compensation by the Pennsylvania Bar Association's section on workers' compensation law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and maintains the certification.
Carlson served as a co-chair in 2008 for the Philadelphia Bar Association's workers' compensation section and served as the legislative liaison.
He currently serves as the secretary for the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.
He is a graduate of Widener University Delaware Law School.

Ronald L. Williams, co-chair of Fox Rothschild's construction practice, was appointed to serve as co-chair of the construction litigation committee for the American Bar Association litigation section.
He will serve in the role for the 2020-21 term.
Williams will work with committee and section leadership to provide members with content on construction litigation topics as well as to coordinate programming for more than 2,100 construction litigators from diverse backgrounds, levels of experience, practices and geographical areas to promote professional growth and development.
At Fox Rothschild, Williams focuses his practice on construction litigation and the negotiation of construction contracts.
He prosecutes and defends construction defect claims against builders and developers.
His experience includes claims involving structural components, product performance issues, water penetration and mold, and insurance coverage issues.
In addition, Williams handles complex commercial litigation and class actions, including medical monitoring and claims for property and personal injury loss.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
