Attorneys for Wilkes-Barre Hospital have asked a judge to ban public statements and seal records for an upcoming medical malpractice trial.

Stuart T. O’Neal, Anne S. Frankel and Marcy B. Tanker of Burns White in West Conshohocken made the request in a motion and memo to Judge Thomas F. Burke Jr. of the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. The trial in Lesley Corey v. Wilkes-Barre Hospital is scheduled to start Oct. 5 to consider the lawsuit filed by Lesley Corey, widow of Joseph Corey, who died Aug. 11, 2013—two days after an emergency admission to the hospital.
