Questions about whether the Catholic Church, facing allegations of a widespread cover-up of sexual abuse by priests, can be held civilly liable for decades-old damage claims are expected to highlight the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s oral argument session set to begin next week.

Early next week, the high court is expected to kick off its three-day argument session. The session, which focuses on cases coming out of courts in the western side of the state, had initially been set to be held in Pittsburgh, but, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it will instead be livestreamed over YouTube.
