Elected and Appointed

George Twardy Jr. was appointed by Gov. Tom Wolf and confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate for the position of judge of the Court of Common Pleas for the First Judicial District.

Twardy was sworn in and assigned to the Family Court division, where he presides over custody matters.

Twardy spent the past 27 years of his career as a general practitioner. He began his career in 1988 serving as a law clerk to the late U.S. District Judge Herbert J. Hutton of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
