As an attorney with young children, working from home these past 10 months during the COVID-19 pandemic has taught me lessons I never thought I would have to learn regarding time management. Having to juggle work, family time, and personal time has not been an easy feat. As an attorney, working from home with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old child has presented its own unique set of challenges that I never imagined I would tackle while working in the legal field.

At this point, I believe most of us, if not all, have been in a hearing or deposition when we hear a child or pet in the background, looking for attention. When these circumstances arise, the responses have shown me the amount of compassion a fellow attorney can show to a colleague. When these instances pop up, across the board I have experienced kindness and consideration, and have come to understand that we are all simply doing our best during an unprecedented time.
