A Cozen O'Connor shareholder has left to aid Fisher Phillips' expansion strategy in Pennsylvania, taking on the role of Pittsburgh-based regional managing partner, as the employment-focused Am Law 200 firm aims to become a go-to employer-side firm in Steel City.

Leaders at Fisher Phillips said they brought on attorney Brian Balonick with the intention of deepening the firm's client connections in western Pennsylvania and capitalizing on his skills in traditional labor and employment law practice. The firm's existing cohort of workplace safety lawyers in Pittsburgh founded that office in 2019, making the move to Fisher Phillips from regional firm Jackson Kelly.
