Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar has announced she will step down after her office failed to perform mandated advertising regarding a proposed constitutional amendment that would open up a two-year liability window allowing those who have been sexually abused to sue their abusers and any institutions that may have harbored them.

Boockvar received a lot of attention recently for her role in overseeing the contentious 2020 election in Pennsylvania, but in a statement to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Gov. Tom Wolf said the move has nothing to do with Boockvar’s performance overseeing the election.
