In a matter of a few days in February, Philadelphia attorney Michael van der Veen went from handling a roster of personal injury and criminal cases to taking center stage in defending the first president in American history to have been impeached twice.

After winning an acquittal for his client, former President Donald Trump, van der Veen is now back at his law offices in the Washington Square West section of Philadelphia, having made national headlines, stirred up controversy in his hometown plaintiffs bar, and even inspired a segment on “Saturday Night Live” along the way.
