Following is a listing of executive and legislative action from the week of March 8. Both houses of the General Assembly were in recess at press time. The Pennsylvania Senate and the state House of Representatives were scheduled to return to session Monday.

Physician General

Gov. Tom Wolf on March 8 announced that he has nominated Dr. Denise A. Johnson to serve as Pennsylvania's physician general. Johnson would succeed Dr. Wendy Braund, who, in addition to her role as COVID-19 response director, served as interim physician general following the departure of Dr. Rachel Levine to serve in the Biden administration.
