Some plaintiffs lawyers have begun to call their clients victims of “cancel culture,” but will adopting a label laden with political overtones help them win their cases?
In a handful of civil suits, lawyers are including that term in their court pleadings, and mentioning it when their cases are covered in local media. Conservatives adopted the phrase to describe a sort of censorship or ostracism of people or ideas that are considered offensive or politically incorrect.
