Despite courthouses being closed across the country last year, many litigation department heads report being as busy as ever in 2020—thanks in part to many novel issues being raised as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A survey of firm leaders by ALM staff recently found that litigation departments from New York to Texas say they were able to maintain a significant workload in 2020 despite early projections that the work would be coming to a crawl. And law firms in Pennsylvania were no different, finding that an array of pandemic-related claims helped buoy their practices, keeping their lawyers busy.
