Following is a listing of executive and legislative action for the week of May 24. Both houses of the General Assembly were in recess at press time. The Pennsylvania Senate and state House of Representatives were each scheduled to return to session June 7.

Abortion Ban

The state House of Representatives Health Committee, on a 15-10 vote strictly along party lines taken May 25, approved legislation that would ban abortions when a fetal heartbeat is detected. Wolf immediately promised to veto the bill if passed by the General Assembly.
