Andrew Stern, a well-known trial attorney who played a leading role in the record-breaking Salvation Army building collapse litigation, has died following what appears to be an accident in the bay off his Longport, New Jersey, home.

Stern, 60, died Saturday morning. He is survived by his three children, Eric, Jeff and Jen, and his wife, Gwen, who is a professor at Drexel University's Kline School of Law. His law partner, Elizabeth Crawford, confirmed his death to The Legal on Saturday afternoon.

A veteran of two of the city's iconic personal injury firms, first The Beasley Firm and then for 16 years at Kline & Specter, Stern just earlier in 2021 launched his own firm with Crawford called Stern & Crawford P.C.
