Reed Smith announced Monday it will eliminate regional pay differences for all of its U.S. associates as part of a broader effort to restructure compensation to compete for associate-level talent.

The global law firm’s restructuring will come with a change to the salaries of current first-year associates to $205,000, which will go into effect in July, according to a statement released by the firm Monday afternoon.
