Lancaster-based law firm Saxton & Stump established its first out-of-state office this month by combining with Charleston, South Carolina, firm Spitz & Neville, firm leaders announced Tuesday.

The merger, effective June 1, added a fourth office and two attorneys to Saxton & Stump’s more than 60-lawyer practice. Stephen A. Spitz, an emeritus professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law, joined as senior counsel, and mediator and litigator Ryan Neville joined as a shareholder.
