The Philadelphia district attorney has sued the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office over a proposed $26 billion accord to settle thousands of opioid lawsuits, of which the state may get as much as $1 billion.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the Commonwealth Court on Thursday, seeks a declaratory judgment that the Attorney General’s Office does not have the authority to bargain away claims the District Attorney’s Office has made against the same four major companies involved in the settlement.
