Philadelphia-born firms Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Blank Rome and Dechert ranked in the top half of The American Lawyer’s 2021 Midlevel Associates Survey, released Monday. But the firm with the happiest associates in Philadelphia was a firm founded elsewhere: DLA Piper.

The annual survey provides an insight into how third- through fifth-year associates at large law firms rate their institutions based on several aspects of job satisfaction: compensation and benefits, training and guidance, relations with partners and other associates, interest in and satisfaction level with the work, the firm’s policy on billable hours and management’s openness about firm strategies and partnership chances.
