Most Pennsylvania county court systems that have asked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to allow them to extend COVID-19 judicial emergency measures locally have been denied.

Of the six counties that have applied for an extension, only one request has been granted—Lancaster County. Adams, Monroe, Indiana, Lackawanna and Blair counties were all unable to convince the Supreme Court to suspend orders limiting the use of advanced communications technology, such as videoconferencing, in lieu of in-person proceedings.
