Bipartisan legislation aiming to ensure that small, diverse and veteran-owned businesses continue to receive support and opportunities in state contracting was introduced Sept. 27 and immediately won a gubernatorial endorsement.

Senate Bill 900, sponsored by Sens. Camera Bartolotta, R-Washington, and Vincent Hughes, D-Philadelphia, would require the Department of General Services (DGS) to take steps to enhance opportunities for small disadvantaged businesses and veteran-owned businesses.
