Members of the Philadelphia bar are mourning the loss of former U.S. District Judge Bruce Kauffman of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, who died Monday at the age of 86, according to multiple obituaries published this week.

A native of New Jersey, Kauffman would have turned 87 on Wednesday. He died of complications from dementia at the Hearth at Drexel retirement community of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
