In protection from abuse cases, a common component of an order entered by the trial court is that the defendant is precluded from residing in a shared residence with the plaintiff and is precluded from contacting the plaintiff. In the recent case of Kaur v. Singh, 253 A.3d 505 (Pa. Super. 2021), an additional restriction was included in the court’s PFA order.

The pertinent facts of the Kaur case are as follows: Manjinder Singh and Kulwarn Kaur were previously married and thereafter divorced. There were no children born of the parties’ marriage. Both parties remarried and Kaur has a 3-year-old son with her second husband.
