Despite claims from within the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office that staffing is stronger than ever, data obtained through a Right-to-Know request revealed that over 130 attorneys and staff left the office this year.

Seventy-two of the 133 individuals who decamped from the Philadelphia DAO between Jan. 1 and Nov. 3, 2021, are lawyers, according to searches in the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board attorney database. In 2020, 85 total individuals left.
