Two weeks after declaring Pennsylvania’s schoolwide mask mandate void and unenforceable, the state Supreme Court has released its 58-page opinion outlining the decision. 

All of the justices who ruled on the case agreed that acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam (who is now set to resign at the end of the year) acted outside of the scope of her authority when she released an order requiring that all individuals inside of a school building must wear a face covering as a means to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
