A Pennsylvania Superior Court panel affirmed a trial court judge’s order dismissing a lawsuit against Penn Presbyterian Medical Center after the plaintiff failed to show that he made a good-faith effort to serve the hospital with a medical malpractice suit in a timely or alternative manner.

The plaintiff, Gerald Bellan, filed his appeal on May 26, after Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge James C. Crumlish III sided with PPMC in dismissing the complaint with prejudice, finding Bellan failed to serve the hospital within a 30-day period.
