The judges of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday appointed Valerie Figueredo, an appellate specialist in the Manhattan district attorney's office, to serve as the court's newest federal magistrate judge.
Figueredo, a 2006 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, has served as an assistant DA handling criminal appeals since 2017 and previously worked as an assistant solicitor general for the state attorney general's office
