A medical malpractice discovery dispute gearing up to go before an appellate court would address the limits of confidentiality protections provided by an act aimed at reducing medical errors.

The defendants argue that they have a right under Section 311 of the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Act of 2002 to withhold documents related to a root cause analysis their patient safety director conducted, and they are looking to the Superior Court to reverse a trial court ruling that says otherwise.
