Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams partner Mark Cheramie Walz is set to present a webinar titled, "The 411 on Section 504: Deciphering Child Find and Eligibility Requirements."

The webinar is designed for special education directors, school administrators, counselors, nurses, psychologists, special education teachers and other related service providers. Walz is scheduled to review a school district's responsibilities under the Section 504 child find, evaluation and eligibility process—and provide strategies for compliance. He is also set to cover the criteria for determining eligibility and the role of mitigating measures.

Participants will learn how to: identify students who may need 504 accommodations due to a disability, including those who receive virtual instruction or present school refusal and/or chronic absenteeism; initiate the identification and evaluation process under Section 504; accurately determine a student's eligibility for a Section 504 plan; hold an appropriate Section 504 eligibility meeting with all necessary participants; and address student needs that arise entirely in the home learning environment through the 504 process.
