Capehart Scatchard announced that Marie Michel, Rachael J. Newcomb and Lester Xu joined the firm as associates in its Mount Laurel, New Jersey, office.
Michel, Newcomb and Xu represent insurance carriers and employers in the defense of workers' compensation claims at all stages of litigation.
Michel received her law degree from Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey, and a B.S. in marketing and a B.A. in communication studies from The College of New Jersey. Upon law school graduation, she worked as a law clerk in Burlington County, New Jersey, for Judge Sander D. Friedman and as a recall law clerk to retired Judge John E. Harrington and retired Judge Ronald E. Bookbinder. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.
