A Chester County attorney was disbarred on consent June 7 after he was convicted of murder in the third degree and other charges in connection with his father’s 2013 death.

In July 2016, a jury in the Chester County Court of Common Pleas found attorney Edward J. O’Brien III, guilty of four charges related to the 2013 death of his father, Edward J. O’Brien Jr.—murder in the third degree, aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. He was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison following the conviction, court records show.
