Morgan Barber, The Humane League

As general counsel of The Humane League (THL), a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, and adjunct professor of animal law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Barber is living a dream that originated for her in high schoolutilizing the law to help animals.

She has been able to combine her passion of animal law with her in-house legal background, landing an associate counsel job for a nonprofit focused on animal protection. Some of her achievements in this role include being a key player in legally reviewing and securing the largest grant transaction in THL's historya $25 million donation; helping the nonprofit to broaden its international presence by reviewing campaign materials for new programmatic initiatives in Japan, Mexico and the U.K. She conducted legal analysis of hiring THL's first remote staff member in Africa and  she improved THL's culture by conducting a listening tour of all organizational departments with one questionhow can the legal department better serve you?

What's the one piece of advice you would give someone when dealing with a crisis?
