Gottlieb started his 45-year career as a member of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he led the Rape and Prosecution Unit before serving as chief of homicide and deputy of investigations. While at the D.A’.s office, he tried dozens of high-profile jury trials; and supervised a team of approximately 100 lawyers, detectives and law enforcement personnel.

Following his career as a prosecutor, he founded a private practice where he handled defense work and criminal litigation, often representing law enforcement officers facing internal investigations and criminal charges. He eventually transitioned from criminal to civil matters, and through the years worked at Mesirov and Gelman, Dilworth Paxson, and Anderson Kill before joining Offit Kurman as a principal in 2009, where he has been ever since.
