frequent refrain among Pennsylvania trial attorneys over the course of the past year has been that Philadelphia has successfully continued the administration of justice through the pandemic while many other judicial districts are still struggling to emerge from case backlogs. The Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas civil division in particular has garnered praise from litigators happy to see their cases progressing.

Leading the civil division through the unpredictable pandemic climate have been Administrative Judge Lisette Shirdan-Harris and Supervising Judge Daniel Anders, who together are joint finalists for The Legal Intelligencer’s 2021 Attorney of the Year Award.
