Senior policy analyst James Beck of global law firm Reed Smith this week is to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI), the firm announced.
The award recognizes Beck's career of achievement, scholarship and advocacy.
Beck focuses on complex personal injury and products liability litigation with the firm's global life sciences health industry group. He oversees the development of legal defenses, master briefs and dispositive motions in multidistrict litigation matters and other mass tort actions. He drafts major appellate briefs in products liability and related matters, including amicus curiae briefs.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
