A federal judge in Pennsylvania has upheld a jury’s findings in favor of two former Philadelphia police officers who alleged they were subjected to a hostile and discriminatory working environment. The court also ordered the city to pay more than $800,000 to the plaintiffs for attorney fees and costs.

On May 24, a jury sided with the plaintiffs, Audra McCowan and Jennifer Allen, on almost all of their claims related to gender discrimination, retaliation, and a hostile work environment against the City of Philadelphia, according to a July 6 memorandum opinion filed Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Karen Spencer Marston of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
