The Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Board will soon be empowered to authorize the use of remote technology in certain proceedings, thanks to a new rule amendment the high court approved Aug. 19. The amendment also allows public disciplinary proceedings to be broadcast via livestream.

The changes aim to provide greater flexibility and access within the disciplinary system while also allowing the board to adapt to unpredictable circumstances that may make electronic access necessary, according to the board’s August 2021 explanatory report in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
