A former Dechert billing manager’s bid to revive allegations that the global law firm discriminated against her on racial grounds was given new life Monday after she paid docketing and filing fees for a federal appeal that had initially not been paid in a timely fashion.

Celiena McClelland, who is African American, had first stated in a June 2021 complaint that she was singled out as incompetent and in need of micromanagement by the global firm’s director of financial operations, Elaine Wry.
