The amendment implemented last month applies to attorneys on temporary suspensions for two years or more without beginning the formal proceedings, the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania announced in a press release.

The Disciplinary Counsel can petition the Supreme Court for issuance of a rule to show cause why the attorney should not be disbarred after the filing of affidavits showing how the respondent attorney has failed to comply the order placing him or her on the status.
