Pennsylvania courts facilitated more than 36,000 statewide requests for language interpreters in 2021, the state’s administrative office announced this month.

The state had 36,140 interpreter requests in 2021, with 85% of the requests being for Spanish-speaking individuals. Other languages requested included Nepali, American Sign Language, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Haitian Creole and French.
