Pennsylvania’s medical malpractice defense bar is bracing for what they expect will be an influx of litigation into venues that are potentially less favorable to defendants and more likely to yield big verdicts.

Nobody is entirely sure yet what the changes will mean, but attorneys on all sides agree there will be new points of contention between the parties when the revamped rules come into play Jan. 1.
