The program, titled "Legal Obstacles to Adoption," is set to give an overview of the top pitfalls one may come across during the adoption process.
Topics to be covered include: how to navigate contested adoptions; practical guidance on handling interstate adoptions; how to determine what to do while keeping the best interests of the child in mind; how to overcome additional hurdles when birthparents are minors or incarcerated; and what options are available when post-adoption contact agreements turn sour.
