Private, planned communities can’t keep registered sex offenders from residing inside the community, a Pennsylvania appellate court has ruled.

A unanimous seven-judge panel of the Commonwealth Court ruled that private communities couldn’t implement rules that pushed sex offenders out of their communities. The ruling in Lake Naomi Club v. Rosado, which was issued Oct. 28, affirmed a decision from the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.
