Every child deserves an education that prepares them for success, provides a safe place for learning, and honors their history and experiences. To build a more just society, we need our schools to be places of learning, healing, and opportunity for the students they are charged with serving. We need welcoming and inclusive schools that enable children to gain a deep understanding of their world, preparing them to fully participate in our democracy and society and giving them the freedom to pursue their dreams.

But over the past year in Pennsylvania and across the country, we have seen an opposing threat in our schools: growing local and national efforts targeting Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ students and erasing these identities from school curricula and programs.
