A northeast Pennsylvania magisterial district judge is facing suspension—in addition to criminal charges—for allegedly lying about where he lived in order to secure his appointment to the post.

The Judicial Conduct Board announced Friday that it filed a petition to suspend Monroe County Magisterial District Judge John Caffese without pay in response to a slate of criminal charges the county’s District Attorney’s Office brought against him.
