Emerging from the pandemic has been much like a rollercoaster. With so few things going to trial and so many transactions placed on hold, once the things got moving again, the legal community was in demand like never before. That upward trend continued for much of the past year, as you’ll see in the figures outlined in these pages. Especially in the M&A arena firms were busier than ever, and trial attorneys reported being booked solid for months at a time as courts pushed to work through their growing backlogs.
