Appellate lawyers are not happy about a proposal that would push filing deadlines several hours earlier in matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Under the proposed rule, announced Tuesday, filing deadlines in the Third Circuit would expire at 5 p.m. rather than midnight. And solo practitioner Howard Bashman said his first thought upon seeing the proposal was, “Why are you making our lives more difficult?”
