The biggest problem in the practice of law is running the business. The overhead has gotten extremely high. Hiring competent secretaries is no longer $30,000 or $40,000 proposition. Rent is high. Even the legal research is extremely high. Sometimes, judges who have been on the bench for a number of years do not understand the dramatic increases in overhead.
