I read a lot about lawyer burnout and lawyers being dissatisfied. What is the biggest problem?
The biggest problem in the practice of law is running the business. The overhead has gotten extremely high. Hiring competent secretaries is no longer $30,000 or $40,000 proposition. Rent is high. Even the legal research is extremely high. Sometimes, judges who have been on the bench for a number of years do not understand the dramatic increases in overhead.
