How do I know when a fee I am charging is excessive?

That is always a good question as to whether a fee would be considered excessive or not, and what are the standards? Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5 discusses fees and gives factors to consider whether a fee is excessive. Those factors include time and labor, acceptance of the case will prevent employment on other similar cases, what is a customary fee in the locality, the amount involved and the results obtained, time limitations, the length and nature of the professional relationship, and the experience, reputation, and ability of the lawyer.
