Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals and Jefferson Frankford Hospital were slapped with a medical malpractice lawsuit on March 30 in Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County. The suit was brought by Mills & Edwards on behalf of the estate of Richard Castro, who died from cardio-respiratory arrest during an asthma attack. According to the complaint, the decedent waited more than seven hours in a waiting room and was not administered emergency care until collapsing face-first into the floor. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is Rodriguez v. Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals Inc. et al.
