Following is a listing of executive and legislative action from the week of May 8. The Pennsylvania Senate is scheduled to return to session on June 5, and the House of Representatives is scheduled to return to session on May 22.

Secretary of Agriculture

On May 10, the Pennsylvania Senate unanimously confirmed Russell Redding to serve as Pennsylvania’s 27th secretary of agriculture. A Pennsylvania native and career public servant in the agriculture sector, Redding led the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture as secretary from 2009 to 2011 under Gov. Ed Rendell and from 2015 to 2022 under Gov. Tom Wolf, as part of his nearly 25 years of service to the commonwealth.
